Nepal’s Contested Constitution and Recommendations for Moving Forward_October 2015

Despite significant protests and unrest, Nepal’s Constituent Assembly (CA) promulgated the country’s new constitution on September 20 by a two-thirds majority. Over 40 people have died in protests against the terms of the constitution and the movement of vehicles and goods has now come to a halt in many parts of the country.
